The J Team: During the past decade, Jack Byrne has formed The J Teamwith Julie Darsses, John Zakowski and Scott Yorg, combining his expertise in creative selling, communication and negotiation strategy with Julie's 20-year in-depth experience in Manhattan’s quality properties and encyclopedic knowledge of same, John's outstanding experience in superior customer service and Scott's deep connections with world properties.

The J Team, the core group of The World Beaters provides a unique and profitable experience for seller and buyer alike. The team markets properties that range from estates in France and fine townhouses and the gamut of East Side Condo and Coop apartments in Manhattan to large acreages here and abroad. Having four points of contact, the team is always available for buyers and sellers. Having an abundance of skills, the contact is always worthwhile.

Jack is a Director of The Manhattan Association of Realtors (MANAR) and a member of The New York Association of Realtors (NYSAR), The National Association of Realtors (NAR), and The Real Estate Board of New York (RBNY).

Background: Jack Byrne is a born, bred and, at times, a well-recognized New Yorker. A Columbia grad, he has been principal and/or owner of half a dozen advertising agencies, but is best known for the major role he played in Barney’s upgrade to a high-end men’s fashion store in the 1970’s. He was also Jack Jay of Jay and Day, Barney’s award-winning 1970’s broadcast spokesmen. Jack’s many major marketing credentials include the turnaround of the Cotton Industry in the 1970s and AT&T’s major launch into the field of Data Communications, the forerunner of a business now producing hundreds of billions of dollars.

As a retail innovator, Jack created the concept of the eyewear superstore (best expressed in Lenscrafters) an industry that now totals more than 4,000 stores world wide with a volume of some $40 billion. During the 90’s, Jack opened up Russia and the former Soviet Union for a large European optical chain, launching 17 eyewear superstores and establishing a 15-nation wholesale distribution network. Today Russia alone has 500 such Jack Byrne-inspired stores functioning. His background in real estate was nurtured in a country where privately held property had not existed for 70 years. He had to invent sale and lease contract terms and oversee design and construction of remarkably modern stores where handsaws and hammers were the tools of necessity. At the same time, his skills at negotiation strategy were honed in a nation famous for hard negotiating.

His favorite charity is Pathways to College (www.pathwaystocollege.net)
