| As Controller for Century 21 NY Metro, Mike Langer handles accounting, budgeting, expense oversight and forecasting, as well as certain operational areas for the firm, including consolidating equipment leases, monitoring insurance coverage, and managing staff. He joined Dwelling Quest in 2005, to handle accounting for the firm’s midtown office, and was instrumental in overseeing the financial transition when Dwelling Quest and Century 21 NY Metro merged. While earning his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Siena College, Mike played on Siena’s baseball team, a Division I baseball program. After graduation, he worked as an accountant within the minor league baseball industry, accepting a position with the Single A team for the Houston Astros, where he helped develop controls and procedures for the company during its inaugural season. In 2003, he was hired as the Controller for the Double AA team for the New York Yankees. During his two seasons with the team, they were able to cut expenses by 15% and the organization was awarded the most outstanding franchise in the country, an annual award presented to one of the 250 Minor League Baseball franchises. In 2005, Mike moved back to NYC to pursue work in the coaching and instructional business of baseball and, while coaching baseball at the high school level, joined Dwelling Quest. Mike and his wife Emmy live in Queens with their dog Eddie. |
